Steven P. Grimes
Chief Operating Office & Chief Financial Officer, Inland Western Retail Real Estate Trust, Inc.
Steven P. Grimes joined Inland as chief financial officer of Inland Western Retail Real Estate Advisory Services, Inc., the business advisory external manager of Inland Western in February 2004. He also held the position of principal financial officer and treasurer of Inland Western Retail Real Estate Trust, Inc. Effective with the internalization and self-administration of Inland Western in November of 2007, Mr. Grimes was appointed chief operating officer and chief financial officer of the REIT.
During his time as principal financial officer, Mr. Grimes assisted in the acquisition of over
$8.3 billion in real estate assets and managed over $4.2 billion in financings. As a member of Inland Western's senior advisory committee, he also led the Securities and Exchange Commission's compliance and Sarbanes Oxley initiatives for the REIT. Prior to joining the Inland Group, Mr. Grimes was a director with the mortgage brokerage firm of Cohen Financial, and was a senior manager with Deloitte in their Chicago-based real estate practice.
Mr. Grimes received his B.S. Degree in Accounting from Indiana University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Grimes is a member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society. Previously Mr. Grimes has served on accounting subcommittees of NCREIF and PREA.
